"A Tale Of Two Barnabys"

Issue#44: "A Tale Of Two Barnabys"

Part One of Eight of The Doppelganger Saga

Another Barnaby is created during a freak lightning storm...

Notes and References:

The title is a reference to "A Tale Of Two Cities" written by Charles Dickens in 1859. However the story is more akin to "The Double" by Fyodor Dostoyevsky in 1846. "The Double" tells the story of Yakov Petrovich Golyadkin, A government clerk, who encounters someone who appears to look exactly like him but much more confident. It soon transpires that the other Golyadkin is trying to take over the original's life.

This issue is part one of an eight issue saga entitled "The Doppelganger Saga" which will follow newly introduced Bartleby (The other Barnaby) as he causes mayhem and destruction in Moloch Falls in his mission to destroy Barnaby and all that he holds dear.

Bartleby is a complete genetic double of Barnaby and was somehow created via a freak lightning storm. He has slightly darker red skin, Yellow and green eyes and happens to be a complete psychopath.

The character of Bartleby has been planned from the very beginning of Barnaby and Loaker and will serve as it's first proper villain. Previously Aldbug and Cecil have filled that role within the comic however where they have limits on how far they will do, Bartleby does not.

The character's name comes from the fact that when Barnaby and Loaker first started many people would incorrectly call it "Bartleby and...how do you pronounce Loaker?
